Description

Lavendula Angustifolia has a sweet, dry, herbaceous floral scent. It possesses versatile therapeutic properties, and it is considered to be one of the must-have oil among all the essential oils. This oil is widely popular for its relaxing and healing qualities, and it has been known to enhance sleep and overall well-being. It is a full-bodied steam-distilled oil which is extracted from the flowering tops of the Lavender plant. 

Lavender alone can produce such a smell to promote a calm and tranquil environment. In ancient times, Lavender was used by Romans and Egyptians for cooking, relaxation and bathing. This essential oil can be applied topically to the temples, back of the neck. It helps to improve skin texture and reduces stress.

How to use 

Diffuse

Use two to three drops of Lavender essential oil with a carrier oil of your choice.

Cooking

Lavender essential oil can be used in cooking to soften the citrus flavour. Dilute one drop of the oil in a half cup or 120 ml of liquid.

Topical use

Use two to three drops of Lavender essential oil and apply it to the desired area like wrist, back of the neck and chest. You can also mix it with 5ml of a carrier oil of your choice.

Inhalation

A few deep inhalations from the bottle can help when you are at work, in the car or anytime you need a quick break.

Bath

Add five drops of the Lavender essential oil in the bath to create a relaxed environment and to nourish the skin.

Wounds

Mix one drop of Lavender oil with a carrier oil of your choice and apply it on a wound, it is used for spot treatment.

Blemish

Mix one drop of Lavender oil with a carrier oil of your choice and apply it on a wound, it is used for spot treatment.

Steam Treatment

In a bowl containing steaming hot water, add two drops of Lavender essential oil. Place your face near to  the top of the bowl at a safe distance from the hot water and cover your face and back of the head with a towel to trap the aromatic vapours. Caution, if there are any risks or burns on the face, do not use this treatment. 

Cautions

  • Susceptible to skin sensitivity. 
  • Keep out of the reach of children. 
  • Store it in a cool, dry place. 
  • Avoid sunlight or UV rays for up to 12 hours after applying product. 
  • If you are pregnant, or a nursing mother, consult a physician.

Bergamot, Cedarwood Virginian, Clove Bud, Clary Sage, Geranium Egyptian, Helichrysum Italicum, Lemon, Neroli, Patchouli, Rose Absolute, Rosemary 1,8-Cineole, Sandalwood Australian and Vetiver.
