Camphor (Cinnamomum Camphora) is a terpene. It is commonly used in cream, ointment, and lotions. It is a granular substance obtained from the roots, stems, branches and leaves of the genus Lauraceae, as species of evergreen tree.
A native to East Asia, camphor has been introduced to other countries. Camphor Essential Oil itself is extracted from the wood of camphor trees and by steam distillation. Camphor oil has been highly regarded for its beneficial properties. Being able to be easily absorbed by skin, camphor oil is used topically to relieve pain, inflammation, and itching. It is also widely used as a natural antiseptic.
Six to eight drops of Camphor Essential Oil can be added to a diffuser.
Apply Camphor Essential Oil directly to the burnt area after running the area under cool water to help reduce burning sensation
Mix with menthol and a carrier oil of choice and apply directly to the infected toenail daily.
Drop Camphor Essential Oil into a bowl of hot water. Hold your head above the bowl as you inhale the vapor.
In a bowl containing steaming hot water, add two drops of Tea tree essential oil. Place your face near to the top of the bowl and cover your face and back of the head with a towel to trap the aromatic vapours. Caution, if there are any risks or burns on the face, do not use this treatment.
Mix with a carrier oil of choice. Apply the mixture to the stiff muscle and massage gently few minutes per day.
